From the Land of the Lord of Sipan
   
The KingKong :

This Peruvian dessert it is originally from Lambayeque, the land of "Lord of Sipan" second famous peruvian ruins, after Machu Pichu. located 700 km far from Lima.

The King_Kong is a crisp flaky pastry layered combined with "Dulce de Leche" (blancmange or Cajeta)) tastes from the tropics, such as fresh pineapple and quince jelly It partners perfectly with your tea or coffee flavors, too

The "Dulce de leche", a delicious sweetened, thickened milk sauce is called also (cajeta).

The funny name of this original dessert does not have any connection with the famous Holywood movie.

Ingredients: Selected whole, fresh milk, special flour, vegetable oil, egss, yucca, pinneaple, orange,sweet potato and peanunt selected
natural gelating, refined sugar, chancaca and clove.

By the 1920´s Mrs Victoria de Garcia, a recognized lambayecan lady, began the production and trade of several tradditional deserts and cakes in her house located in San Roque street. The earnings were
used to get supplies for breakfast that was given to group of indigent neighbors of the town, specially indigent old people. Two importants dates were chosen. June 13 (because a dovotion to the Cristian Catholic Saint Antony from Padua) and Christmas, December 25th.

Among the cakes produced there was a big "alfajor" (a two layer hard cake with a seet milk).According to the history at that time the famous gorilla King Kong (silent cinema) was being on movies at the city town.

The folklore tooke the name of "King Kong" to call "big alfajor"
because the size, the big shape of the King Kong gorillla and the big
size hard cake, so the pople start to call the Hard Cake alfajor as "King Kong".
